COUNSELING STYLE People often enter therapy when they feel stuck in their problems and aren’t sure how to try something new or even know what to try. Billy’s approach to therapy involves identifying the healthy motivations in his clients, helping them to develop a clear vision of what they want to move toward in their lives, and connecting them to their own strengths to make steps in that direction. He sees each person as unique and tailors therapy to fit each person’s needs.

Billy has over 25 years of clinical experience helping adults who have struggled with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, grief and loss, relationship problems, and adjusting to life transitions. He incorporates a number of clinical approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, motivational interviewing, clinical hypnosis, and mindfulness-based practices. He has a special interest in working with those who have experienced trauma and has training in EMDR as well as other desensitization techniques.

"The therapeutic relationship is essential to healing and
I focus on developing a respectful and supportive partnership with each of my clients.” -Billy
